The Indigenous Australian Lived Experience Centre Limited is a national First Nations-led organisation focused on elevating Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander lived and living experience voices across mental health, suicide prevention and Social and Emotional Wellbeing.
IALEC works alongside Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people with lived and living experience to influence policy, reform, service design, research, evaluation and sector development. Central to this work is the National Indigenous Lived Experience Group, which provides lived experience-informed advice, guidance and leadership across IALEC’s national activities.
The National Indigenous Lived Experience Group Coordinator will coordinate and support the National Indigenous Lived Experience Group, ensuring its work is well planned, organised, documented and aligned with IALEC’s strategic priorities.
This role provides high-level coordination across NILEG activities, including meetings, work planning, recruitment, member engagement, communications, action tracking, reporting and follow-up. The role supports NILEG members to contribute their expertise and lived experience perspectives to national policy, reform, research, evaluation and sector development activities across mental health, suicide prevention and Social and Emotional Wellbeing.
The position will also coordinate online and face-to-face opportunities for NILEG to engage with government bodies, health organisations, research partners, peak bodies and non-government organisations. Through this work, the role helps elevate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander lived experience voices and supports culturally informed systems change.

We are looking for someone who is organised, relational, culturally grounded and confident working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander lived experience representatives, communities and stakeholders.
You will be able to coordinate meetings, records, actions, communications and engagement activities while supporting safe, respectful and meaningful participation. You will have strong communication skills, good attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities in a remote working environment.
You will understand the importance of cultural safety, trauma-informed practice, confidentiality and respectful engagement when working with lived and living experience.
