About the role

Nordfab Pty Ltd is seeking a skilled and reliable Installer of dust/fume extraction systems to join our team on a full-time basis. This position is based in Sefton, NSW 2162 and offers an exciting opportunity to work in the dust and fume extraction sector, specifically within installations. As a Ducting Installer, you will play a crucial role in the installation and assembly of ducting systems, ensuring that our projects meet the highest standards of quality and safety. This role is essential to our operations, as proper ducting installation directly impacts the efficiency and performance of dust and fume extraction systems across commercial and industrial clients.

Key responsibilities

• Install, assemble and secure Installer of dust/fume extraction systems in accordance with technical specifications and project requirements

• Measure, cut and shape ducting materials to precise dimensions using appropriate tools and equipment

• Inspect and test completed ducting installations to ensure proper fit, alignment and functionality

• Collaborate with other tradespeople and site teams to coordinate ducting installation with broader construction or maintenance projects

• Ensure all work complies with relevant safety standards, building codes and industry regulations

• Maintain accurate records of work completed and report any issues or modifications to supervisors

• Transport and handle materials safely on site, adhering to workplace health and safety requirements

• Perform basic maintenance and repairs to ducting systems when required

What we're looking for

• Formal qualification or apprenticeship in sheet metal work, ventilation, air conditioning or a related trade

• Proven experience as an Installer of dust/fume extraction systems or in a similar ducting installation role within the trades sector

• Strong knowledge of ducting materials, types and installation methods

• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and installation plans accurately

• Proficiency with hand tools, power tools and measuring equipment commonly used in the installation of dust/fume extraction systems

• Understanding of relevant building codes, safety standards and workplace health and safety regulations

• Physical fitness and ability to work at heights and in confined spaces where required

• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality workmanship

• Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and supervisors

• A current driver's license (essential)

• Relevant safety certifications or licenses, such as White Card or height safety training
