Practice Manager | People Leadership & Practice Operations | Growing Dental Team

About the role

As Practice Manager, your primary focus will be people leadership and practice operations. You will support staff capability and performance, strengthen team communication, and ensure the practice operates consistently and effectively. This role is ideal for a people-first leader who understands the flow and demands of a dental practice. You will have full autonomy over managing staff, building systems, and fostering a positive workplace culture. Working side-by-side with a motivated owner, you will focus on team performance and operational flow, while our front-of-house team handles direct patient relations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, coach, mentor, motivate, develop and inspire our team of staff across clinical and administrative roles creating clear expectations, accountability and opportunities for growth

• Cultivate our great workplace culture, resolve internal conflict, drive performance and run team meetings

• Coordinate daily clinic workflows, staff rostering and leave, and efficient clinical scheduling and resource allocation

• Collaborate with the Practice Owner to implement agreed priorities, growth strategies monitor relevant KPIs, and optimise and embed practical, repeatable systems

• Utilise your dental background to maintain strict adherence to dental board regulations, infection control, and WH&S guidelines

• Support accurate billing, and HICAPS processes, monitor agreed operational and financial measures and escalate material variances to the Practice Owner

About you

• Proven experience leading and managing a multi-disciplinary team, ideally within healthcare, or a dental environment

• A growth mindset with a genuine desire to help build and scale a small business

• The ability to remain calm, communicate clearly, handle difficult conversations and balance empathy with accountability, while maintaining a positive, high-performing team

• Previous dental practice experience clinical experience (e.g., former Dental Assistant, DA Supervisor, or Clinical Coordinator) is strongly preferred

• Experience using EXACT dental software is highly regarded. Strong digital capability and the ability to learn practice-management systems quickly are essential
