United Terminals Pty Ltd is looking for an experienced Rotating Shift Terminal Operator to join our team at the Hastings Terminal.
Working within a 24/7 rotating roster, you'll play a key role in the safe operation of one of Australia's major fuel terminals while contributing to the delivery of essential fuel supplies across Victoria.

United Terminals Pty Ltd is a subsidiary of United Petroleum Pty Ltd and operates fuel terminals across Victoria, Tasmania and Queensland.
As operators of Major Hazard Facilities (MHF), we maintain the highest standards of safety, environmental responsibility and operational performance while supplying fuel to customers across Australia.
About the Role
Reporting to the Shift Team Leader, you will be responsible for safely operating terminal facilities across a 24/7 rotating roster while ensuring compliance with all Major Hazard Facility (MHF) requirements and company procedures.
You will contribute to all aspects of terminal operations including fuel receipt and storage, shipping activities, aviation fuel quality assurance, emergency response, maintenance coordination and contractor management.
From time to time, you will also have the opportunity to step into the Shift Team Leader role, providing valuable leadership experience and supporting the continued operation of the terminal.
Key Responsibilities
Your responsibilities will include:
Safely operating the Hastings Terminal in accordance with company procedures and MHF legislation
Receiving, storing, handling and loading petroleum and aviation fuel products
Supporting pipeline, gantry and Crib Point Jetty operations
Monitoring fuel quality and maintaining aviation fuel standards
Completing operational inspections, testing and quality assurance activities
Maintaining accurate stock movement and operational records
Raising maintenance work requests and supporting planned maintenance activities
Participating in emergency response activities
Assisting with contractor coordination and shipping operations
Completing Permit to Work documentation where authorised
Conducting operational reporting, safety audits and shift handovers
Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives
Acting in the Shift Team Leader role when required.
About You
To be successful, you will bring:
Experience within fuel terminals, petroleum, oil & gas, aviation fuel, chemical processing, mining or heavy industrial operations
Experience working within a 24/7 operational environment
A strong commitment to safety and environmental compliance
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
The ability to remain calm under pressure and make sound operational decisions
Strong attention to detail and accurate documentation skills
Mechanical aptitude and a proactive approach to problem solving
A willingness to continue learning and developing your technical skills.
Experience in any of the following will be highly regarded:
Major Hazard Facilities (MHF)
Aviation fuel quality systems or JIG standards
Permit to Work systems
SCADA, SAAB or CMMS systems
Emergency Response
Pipeline or shipping operations
Tank farm operations
Leadership or relieving supervisory responsibilities.
