About the role
Due to continued growth and increasing project demands, BD Water is seeking an organised
and proactive Procurement Coordinator to manage and coordinate the procurement of
irrigation materials, equipment and supplies across our expanding portfolio of commercial
and civil projects.
BD Water delivers integrated water management solutions for commercial clients across
Perth and surrounding regions. What sets us apart is our ability to manage projects entirely
in-house, from water licensing and bore construction through to irrigation design, pumping
systems, automation, installation, maintenance and ongoing support.
Working closely with our Irrigation Manager and Warehouse Coordinator, the Procurement
Coordinator will play an important role in ensuring our project and field teams have the
materials and equipment they need, when they need them. You will coordinate purchasing,
manage supplier relationships, monitor orders and lead times, and help maintain an efficient
flow of materials across our projects and operations.
Key responsibilities
• Work closely with the Irrigation Manager and Warehouse Coordinator to understand
upcoming project, material and stock requirements
• Coordinate the purchasing of materials, equipment and supplies across the business
• Raise and manage purchase orders from request through to delivery
• Liaise with suppliers regarding pricing, availability, lead times and deliveries
• Obtain and compare supplier quotes to support cost-effective purchasing decisions
• Build and maintain positive relationships with suppliers
• Monitor outstanding orders and proactively follow up delays or supply issues
• Coordinate procurement requirements with project, field and warehouse teams
• Work collaboratively with the Warehouse Coordinator to support stock availability
and inventory requirements
• Communicate with the Irrigation Manager regarding project requirements, priorities
and upcoming works
• Identify opportunities to improve purchasing processes, supplier performance and
cost efficiencies
• Maintain accurate procurement, supplier and purchasing records
• Assist with resolving discrepancies relating to orders, deliveries and invoices
• Ensure procurement activities align with company procedures and operational
requirements
• Communicate clearly with relevant team members regarding order status, changes,
delays and expected delivery dates
About you
We are looking for someone who is organised, reliable and comfortable taking ownership of
their work. You will be able to manage competing priorities while maintaining good
communication with suppliers and internal teams.
Ideally, you will have:
• Previous experience in procurement, purchasing, supply coordination, warehousing
or a similar role
• Strong organisational and time-management skills
• Excellent attention to detail
• Confident communication and supplier relationship skills
• The ability to prioritise and manage multiple purchasing requirements at once
• Good computer skills and confidence learning internal systems
• Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approac
• The ability to work independently while collaborating with a broader operational
team
Experience within irrigation, landscaping, trades or a similar operational
environment would be highly regarded.
