About the role
As a DSW in our Day Program, you will support participants to engage in a variety of activities that build skills, promote independence, and encourage social participation. Each day brings new opportunities to make a positive impact in someone’s life.
In this role, you'll support adults with disabilities to engage in meaningful activities, build life skills, and enjoy social connection. If you’re someone who is reliable, proactive, and passionate about empowering people with disabilities, we’d love to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
Provide person‑centred care and support to individuals living with disabilities.
Support participants to engage in a structured day program environment.
Assist participants to build life skills, develop independence, and engage in meaningful social and community activities.
Provide respectful, empowering personal care and daily living support (as required).
Assist with tasks including cooking, cleaning, and shopping.
Support participants to access the community and attend appointments.
Follow individual support plans and accurately document progress.
Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment in collaboration with the Allevia team.
What We’re Looking For
A genuine passion for supporting people with disabilities.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
A warm, person‑centred approach.
Creativity and energy to lead engaging activities.
Availability to work a minimum of 3 weekdays from 9am–3pm, with 8am starts depending on participant needs.
Certificate III or IV in Disability, Individual Support, Community Services, or equivalent (or currently studying) Preferred.
Current First Aid and CPR certifications.
NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain).
Valid NSW Driver’s Licence (P2 Class minimum) and a reliable vehicle with Comprehensive Car Insurance.
Working With Children Check.
Valid Australian work rights (Passport, Birth Certificate, or Visa).
