Merchandise Planner

At Munro Footwear Group (MFG), we're looking for an experienced Merchandise Planner who combines commercial acumen with analytical thinking, curiosity and a collaborative mindset. You'll be passionate about using data to influence decisions, optimise inventory and deliver profitable growth, while building strong partnerships across Buying, Retail Operations, Logistics and Supply Chain.

Reporting to the Senior Planning Manager, you'll partner with Buying, Retail Operations, Logistics and Supply Chain to ensure the right product is in the right store, at the right time, in the right quantity.

The role

• Developing and managing merchandise and assortment plans for the Comfort division.
• Building budgets, forecasts and financial plans that drive sales and profitability.
• Analysing sales trends, customer behaviour and product performance to optimise buying decisions.
• Managing inventory, stock allocation, replenishment and seasonal buy plans.
• Monitoring sales, inventory and markdown performance to maximise sell-through and minimise aged stock.
• Partnering with Buying to deliver commercially successful ranges.
• Delivering insightful reporting and recommendations that influence business decisions.

About you

• 5+ years' experience in Merchandise Planning within retail (footwear or fashion highly regarded).
• Strong commercial acumen with a passion for retail and customer trends.
• Advanced Excel skills and confidence working with large datasets and planning systems.
• Experience in budgeting, forecasting and inventory management.
• Outstanding analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills.
• A collaborative approach with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
