Duties

Sample Preparers operate machinery to crush, split and pulverise raw mineral samples. The primary responsibilities of the role include:

• Sorting samples,

• Weighing samples,

• Drying samples,

• Operating mills, splitters and crushers,

• Bagging samples, and

• Following all Intertek policies and procedures, including regarding safety, production, quality and human resources.

The role requires the successful applicant to work shift work Monday to Friday on a rotating schedule: 6am - 2pm or 2pm - 10pm. Applicants should be able and willing to work all shifts. (Weekend work may be available to meet production demands). Sample Preparation is in a dusty and noisy environment, and Sample Preparers are required to work in environmental temperatures.

Skills and experience

The positions would ideally suit applicants with:

• Previous Sample Prep experience preferred

• Communication, literacy and numeracy skills in English,

• The ability to work as part of a team,

• The ability to perform manual handling, stand for long periods and regularly lift 15 – 20kg safely.
