About the role
RippleAbility | Company based in Mandurah Peel WA | Telehealth (WA & Australia wide)
Independent Contractor position – not an employment position
RippleAbility is a growing paediatric allied health organisation supporting children, young people and families across Western Australia.
We provide psychology, paediatric allied health, family support and navigation services, working closely with families, schools, NDIS professionals and other health and allied health providers to ensure children and their families receive the right support at the right time.
We are looking for a registered Psychologist to join our team as an independent contractor, working under the clinical supervision of an endorsed Clinical Psychologist.
This arrangement is designed to provide flexibility and autonomy, allowing you to build a caseload that aligns with your availability, interests and areas of clinical expertise, while still being supported by a collaborative team.
This is an exciting opportunity for a Psychologist who has an interest in working with children, young people and families to provide wrap-around care and would like to develop or expand their experience in paediatric assessment, diagnostics and therapeutic services.
Your caseload can be tailored to your experience and interests and may include:
Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) assessments
Intellectual Disability assessments
School readiness and developmental assessments
Psychological support and counselling for parents and carers
Individual psychology sessions for children funded through NDIS plans
Collaborative care planning with families and other professionals
Working alongside our paediatric triage and family support teams
You will have the opportunity to work across a mix of Medicare, NDIS and privately funded services, depending on your interests, qualifications and areas of practice.
We understand that clinicians value flexibility, autonomy and the ability to create a working arrangement that suits their professional and personal commitments.
As an independent contractor with RippleAbility, you can have flexibility around:
How many hours you work
Which days and times you offer
The type of clinical work you undertake
The size and composition of your caseload
The funding pathways you work across
Working remotely via telehealth
Our administration and intake team supports the referral, booking and administrative processes, allowing you to focus on your clinical work.
Contractor earnings vary by funding pathway, ranging from approximately $70–$145+ per hour. The lower rate applies to Medicare bulk-billed services, which we aim to offer families wherever possible to keep psychology services accessible and free of out-of-pocket costs. NDIS and privately funded services offer higher earning potential based on the applicable service rate. Specific contractor rates for each funding pathway will be outlined clearly as part of the agreement.
We are looking for a Psychologist who:
Holds general registration with AHPRA
Has a genuine interest in working with children, young people and families
Has an interest in paediatric assessment, intervention and/or diagnostics
Has experience with, or is keen to develop skills in, ASD and Intellectual Disability assessments
Is familiar with cognitive, developmental and/or psychoeducational assessment tools
Is comfortable working with families navigating the NDIS, education and health systems
Communicates confidently and works collaboratively with other professionals
Values family-centred, strengths-based practice
Is passionate about helping children and families achieve meaningful outcomes
Experience working with NDIS participants is highly regarded but not essential.
Although you will be working as an independent contractor, you won't be working in isolation.
We provide:
Regular clinical supervision with an endorsed Clinical Psychologist
Flexible contractor arrangements
Ability to build a caseload around your availability and interests
Dedicated administration and intake support
A steady referral pathway through our existing paediatric services
Opportunities to develop specialist skills in paediatric assessment and diagnostics
Collaboration with allied health professionals and family support specialists
A supportive and connected clinical environment
The opportunity to work across multiple funding pathways
The opportunity to grow your contractor income through NDIS and privately funded services
We are passionate about creating a service that feels different for families — and for the clinicians who support them.
Our approach is family-centred, collaborative and practical, with a strong focus on connecting families with the right supports rather than working in silos.
If you are looking for a flexible independent contractor arrangement, where you can build a caseload around your availability, develop your paediatric skills and have the opportunity to work across different funding pathways, we'd love to hear from you.
Please submit your CV and a brief cover letter outlining your experience and areas of interest to ••••@rippleability.org or apply via SEEK.
For a confidential discussion about the contractor opportunity, please contact Sam, Practice Manager, on 04•• ••• 266.
RippleAbility is committed to providing inclusive, culturally safe services and fostering a diverse workforce. We strongly encourage applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and welcome applicants from all backgrounds and lived experiences.
