About the role
Synopsis:
Haileybury welcomes applications for the role of Chief Supervisor – Examinations to join our Keysborough campus, on a casual basis, commencing 31 August 2026.
Reporting to the VCE Coordinator, the Chief Supervisor - Examinations is responsible for managing all Senior School internal and external assessments in line with VCAA and School guidelines. This key role ensures examinations are conducted fairly and accurately, following all relevant instructions and maintaining the highest standards of integrity and organisation.
Key Responsibilities
As the Chief Examination Supervisor, you will:
Coordinate the secure receipt, reconciliation, storage, distribution and return of all VCE external assessment materials in accordance with VCAA requirements and timelines.Ensure examination materials and completed student response materials are securely stored and appropriately handed over to the VCAA courier.Ensure clear and consistent understanding and implementation of approved Special Examination Arrangements for students.Coordinate and brief examination supervisors on VCAA procedures, emergency protocols and their responsibilities, ensuring supervisors are appropriately prepared to undertake the Chief Supervisor role if required.Maintain a secure, orderly and equitable examination environment that enables all students to complete their assessments under appropriate conditions.Ensure students follow VCAA examination rules and procedures, including preventing cheating, communication between students and the sharing of prohibited items.Deliver all required instructions, announcements and Examination Centre Messages to students before, during and at the conclusion of each external assessment.Coordinate appropriate procedures for students who are late, become unwell, require toilet breaks or otherwise need to leave the examination room.Respond promptly to incidents, emergencies or breaches of examination procedures and ensure these are reported and documented in accordance with VCAA requirements.Maintain accurate examination records, including attendance rolls, seating plans, examination journals, toilet logs and Special Examination Arrangements rest break records.Ensure examination rooms are appropriately organised to accommodate the needs of all students, particularly those with approved Special Examination Arrangements.Maintain a high level of vigilance throughout examinations while ensuring students are treated consistently, fairly and respectfully.Work collaboratively with school personnel and examination supervisors to ensure the effective administration and smooth operation of all VCE external assessments.Always maintain professional conduct, minimising distractions and ensuring the examination environment remains quiet, focused and compliant with VCAA expectations.
About You
We are looking for a team member who has:
A valid Working with Children Check and Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check (NCCHC).Completed a Supervisor Relationships Statutory Declaration.Completed VCAA online Chief Supervisor training (or has a willingness to complete).Previous experience as a VCE examination supervisor (highly regarded).Demonstrated understanding of appropriate professional behaviour when working with children.Strong time management, organisational skills and attention to detail.Effective interpersonal and communication skills when working with staff, supervisors and students.
