About the role
Bank SinoPac is a leading international commercial bank with an established presence across Asia and overseas markets. As part of our continued expansion in Australia, our newly established Sydney Branch is seeking experienced banking operations professionals to join our team.
We are recruiting multiple positions and welcome candidates with experience in either Deposits & Payments Operations or Trade Finance & Treasury Operations.
Job Responsibilities
Stream A: Deposits & Payments Operations
Process account opening, customer onboarding and account maintenance activities.
Perform deposit operations and customer account administration.
Process domestic and international remittances and payment transactions.
Support daily operational activities and transaction processing.
Liaise with customers, correspondent banks and internal stakeholders on operational matters.
Stream B: Trade Finance & Treasury Operations
Process trade finance transactions, including import and export documentary credits, collections, bank guarantees and related operational activities.
Perform treasury settlement and back-office processing for treasury and financial market transactions.
Prepare transaction documentation, reconciliations and operational reports.
Liaise with counterparties, correspondent banks and internal stakeholders regarding trade finance and treasury operations.
General Responsibilities
Ensure operational activities are conducted in accordance with internal policies, regulatory requirements and branch procedures.
Maintain accurate operational records, reports and supporting documentation.
Support audits, compliance reviews and regulatory reporting requirements.
Assist with the ongoing enhancement of branch operational processes and internal controls.
Coordinate with Head Office and external service providers on operational matters.
Perform any other duties and projects as assigned by management.
Required Skills and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Banking or a related discipline.
Minimum 5 years' banking operations experience within a bank or financial institution.
Experience in either:
Deposits, account services, payments and remittance operations; or
Trade finance and/or treasury operations.
Strong understanding of banking operational processes and internal controls.
Strong analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to work independently in a dynamic and growing branch environment.
Possesses a positive attitude with a genuine passion for customer service.
Highly Preferred
Experience working in an Australian bank, foreign bank branch or other regulated financial institution in Australia.
Experience in loan administration, lending operations or credit operations will be highly regarded.
Experience supporting a newly established branch or branch expansion project.
Mandarin language proficiency (spoken and written) to facilitate communication with Head Office and Mandarin-speaking stakeholders.
