In this role, you'll:
Drive Aboriginal participation and economic inclusion across the Future Fleet Program by leading the implementation of the NSW Aboriginal Procurement Policy, building strong partnerships with suppliers and industry, and ensuring Aboriginal participation opportunities are identified, tracked, and delivered to support Closing the Gap and the growth of the First Economy.
The Manager Aboriginal Participation - Future Fleet will also be responsible for:
• Leading the delivery of the NSW Aboriginal Procurement Policy (APP) and Indigenous Procurement Policy (IPP) across the FFP, ensuring compliance and achievement of Aboriginal participation and economic development objectives.
• Embedding Aboriginal participation targets, economic outcomes and procurement requirements into tenders, contracts and procurement activities, while monitoring compliance and driving performance improvements.
• Developing, maintaining and reporting on procurement performance frameworks, analysing Aboriginal participation outcomes and providing insights to support informed decision-making and transparency.
• Building and strengthening partnerships with Aboriginal businesses, industry stakeholders and community organisations, enhancing supplier capability and creating opportunities for increased participation.
• Providing strategic procurement advice, delivering training and guidance, and identifying opportunities to remove barriers and improve Aboriginal business engagement throughout the procurement lifecycle.
This is a fixed-term full-time position (up to 31 August 2028) located in Sydney.
Attendance is a hybrid arrangement of in person (at least 50%) and work from home. In person attendance is split across the Sydney CBD and Parramatta Offices.
This is an Aboriginal-identified role as it involves the development and delivery of services and programs which impact or require liaison with Aboriginal people and/or communities. Our Aboriginal Employment Unit (AEU), run by a team of Aboriginal employees, is available to support current and prospective employees. About you
You are an Australian Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person.
You have tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline, or equivalent experience.
You are experienced in Aboriginal procurement and participation frameworks, including NSW APP and Commonwealth IPP, with strong skills in contract management, tender evaluations, and probity.
You are skilled in Aboriginal supplier engagement, capability building, market sounding, and supplier pipeline development.
You’re confident in data analysis, reporting, KPI tracking, compliance monitoring, and maintaining audit-ready records.
You’re an effective relationship builder with the ability to influence stakeholders across government, industry, and Aboriginal businesses, and deliver culturally informed training and engagement initiatives.
