Chef - Hospital

We have a casual position available for a Chef at the Canossa Private Hospital in Oxley. 

Your Role

As a Chef, you'll be looking after the most important people in our organisation - our patients, residents and staff. Your tasks will include: 

• Prepare and cook daily nutritionally balanced meals for patients, residents and staff

• Prepare food in accordance with the official menu of Ozcare Services and to satisfy special function requirements

• Apply methods of cooking to a range of food items in their preparation for the given menu

• Order main line food commodities and maintain stock reserves and control as required

• Supervise support staff directly associated with the kitchen environment (where applicable)

• Ensure the needs of the patients and residents are met through regular monitoring of catering services

• Monitor and comply with Workplace Health and Safety and Environmental practices

• Demonstrate commitment to continuous quality improvement in the Food Services Department

Role Requirements

• Must be available 7 days per week

• Self-starter and a team player

• Be vaccinated (and maintain up-to-date vaccinations) against Influenza and Covid-19

• Current Police Screening Certificate

• Food Safety Supervisor Certificate

• Certificate IV in commercial cookery

• Demonstrated previous cooking experience for large groups would be an advantage

• First aid and CPR certificate required within one month of commencement
