Omega is a NDIS registered provider of individualised, community-based support services and we work across metropolitan Melbourne.  We pride ourselves on being flexible and open minded and enjoy working with people to develop programs that reflect individual needs and preferences, rather than having a one size fits all approach.

We are seeking support workers for weekly 1:1 shifts in Preston and have additional casual shifts available in the Northern metro area.

Preston

• Available shift: every Friday 1.30pm - 7.00pm

This role is suited to a person with a good sense of humour, strong interpersonal skills and life experience. The person we support is social and friendly and would like a worker who can engage positively and build rapport. Experience working with people with psychosocial support needs will be highly regarded.

What the role involves

• Working in 1:1 capacity, assisting with daily living tasks, self care and community participation
• Administrative support including bill payments, composing and responding to emails
• Light household tasks, meal planning, grocery shopping and cooking
• Assistance to manage and attend appointments
• The person shares their home with 2 cats and needs assistance to manage their care
• The ability to provide transport to appointments in your own vehicle is essential

Northern Suburbs

What we need from you

Essential:

• NDIS Worker Screening Check
• Current Level 2 first aid and CPR
• Unrestricted work rights
• Basic computer skills
• Strong English language skills, written and verbal
• Unrestricted Victorian drivers licence
• A reliable, insured vehicle
• Completion of the NDIS Worker Orientation module
• A completed application form, current resume and brief introduction letter

Desirable:

• Certificate IV in Disability, Community Services, Mental Health or similar
• Prior experience supporting people with psychosocial support needs
