Blue Care operate 31 retirement villages across Queensland, with more than 3,200 residents choosing to make a Blue Care community their home.

We have a fantastic Caretaker opportunity in our Carlyle Gardens Retirement Village in Townsville.  This is a live-in contracting role where you will be provided with a unit at the Village.  As our independent contractor, you will be responsible for:

• After hours response to resident alarms, applying basic first aid or arranging further medical attention if required by informing/engaging the appropriate authorities.

• Deliver emergency response procedures in accordance with Management direction, legislation and UCQ policy.

• Ensure all emergency response is conducted in a timely manner in accordance with organisational standards.

• After hours emergency maintenance investigation and co-ordination of contractors and/or authorities.

• Manage or escalate after hours incidents in accordance with written protocols.

• After hours locking and unlocking of community facilities.

• Ensure all equipment is stored and used according to organisational guidelines.

• Other general duties as directed by Village Manager.

What makes a difference for us?

• Previous experience working in service delivery sector.

• Excellent attention to detail

• Demonstrated experience in responding to Workplace Health and Safety emergency procedures

• Australian Business Number (ABN)

• Public liability and Professional Indemnity Insurance

• Experience in retirement living, senior’s housing or aligned sector is highly regarded
