About the team
The Sterile Processing Services (SPS) department provides comprehensive decontamination, sterilisation and reprocessing services for reusable medical and surgical equipment used throughout the hospital and by external customers.
Working closely with nursing, medical and perioperative teams, our staff play an essential role in ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality patient care across the hospital.
About the role
As an Instrument Technician, you will collaborate with managers, clinical teams and colleagues to support the delivery of safe, high-quality patient care. Working within the Sterile Processing Services department, you will join a supportive, collaborative and team-focused environment where learning and professional development are encouraged.

Grade information:
Grade 1 - Entry Level
This role is ideal for nursing students, dental nurses, health science students, recent school leavers or anyone seeking to begin a career in healthcare.
No previous experience or formal qualifications are required. Full training will be provided, and successful applicants will be supported to undertake further training, including a Certificate III in Sterilisation Services.
Grade 2 - Qualified Instrument Technician
Suitable for candidates who have:
Please note that student placement experience alone will not be considered sufficient.
Grade 3 - Experienced Instrument Technician
Suitable for candidates who have:
Grade 3 technicians undertake more complex duties and are expected to work competently across all areas of the department while contributing to a collaborative and supportive team culture.
