What we need from you:

Torrens Transit are looking for a skilled and hands-on CCTV Technician to support the safety, security and reliability of our bus fleet. The role is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing on board mobile surveillance systems, including CCTV, recording, audio, monitoring, storage and associated electronic systems. You will help keep vehicles service ready, support secure footage retrieval for investigations, and work closely with workshop and operational teams to ensure systems are operating reliably and in line with company, safety and operational requirements.

Key Responsibilities
 

• Install, configure, test, maintain and upgrade mobile CCTV and related electronic systems across the bus fleet, including cameras, recorders, monitors, audio components, cabling and storage devices
• Diagnose and repair system faults, including video loss, recording failures, power supply issues, connectivity problems, damaged hardware and cabling faults, to minimise vehicle downtime
• Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure systems are recording correctly, operating reliably and supporting fleet availability
• Extract, export and securely catalogue authorised CCTV footage and audio recordings for incidents, investigations, insurance matters and operational requirements
• Maintain accurate records of installations, inspections, repairs, parts used, system configurations and footage retrievals, ensuring privacy, information security and chain-of-custody requirements are followed
• Work closely with workshop staff, depot teams, operations personnel, suppliers and contractors to coordinate repairs, upgrades, testing and technical support
• Follow all company policies and procedures relating to health, safety, quality, environment and operational compliance

What You’ll Bring

To succeed in this role, you will bring strong technical capability, sound diagnostic skills and a practical approach to maintaining mobile surveillance and electronic systems in a fleet environment. Duties include:

• Relevant trade qualification or demonstrated equivalent experience in electronics, communications, security systems, auto electrical, information technology or a related field
• Proven experience installing, maintaining, diagnosing and repairing CCTV, mobile surveillance, electronic, communications or vehicle-mounted technology systems
• Practical understanding of low voltage electrical systems, cabling, connectors, power supply testing, recording devices, storage media and camera systems
• Ability to use diagnostic tools, technical manuals, wiring diagrams, configuration software and fault-finding procedures to resolve issues efficiently
• Strong attention to detail, accurate recordkeeping skills and the ability to handle footage retrievals, system settings and maintenance records confidentially
• Current driver’s licence and confidence using Microsoft Office and relevant maintenance, reporting or data management systems
