Team Leader - Community Forensic Outreach Service

A temporary full-time opportunity to shape service delivery, drive innovation, support clinical excellence, and contribute to improving outcomes for people with complex mental health and forensic needs.

About the role

As Team Leader, Community Forensic Outreach Service (CFOS), you will provide both strategic and operational leadership to a multidisciplinary team of clinicians delivering specialist forensic mental health consultation, support, training, and outreach services. You will oversee a team of approximately 23 clinicians and play a critical role in supporting mental health services to respond effectively to people with complex mental health and forensic needs. This is a highly collaborative leadership position, requiring strong engagement with internal and external stakeholders across the mental health, health, and criminal justice sectors.

About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:

• Provide strategic direction and operational management of CFOS in line with organisational, state-wide, and national priorities and plans in collaboration with the lead Psychiatrists and senior clinical staff.
• Lead service improvement and research initiatives to promote continuous quality improvements and the achievement of best practice standards.
• Provide advanced leadership, clinical and operational management in the development, monitoring, and evaluation of CFOS to mental health services within the allocated catchment areas. A high level of initiative and professional judgement is required in carrying out these duties.
• Apply expertise and specialised knowledge about assessing and working with clients with complex mental health and forensic issues, providing direct daily first line clinical supervision and advice to a multidisciplinary team located within the allocated catchment areas.
• Facilitate and promote effective communication across the service, with our partners, our clients, and their families and significant others.
