About the role
About the role
As the first point of contact for our patients, you'll play a key role in keeping our practice running smoothly. You will work across both of our practice sites: Wakefield Gardens Surgery in Ainslie and The Surgery on Manuka Terrace in Manuka.
Shifts are rostered Monday to Friday between 7.30am and 6.00pm, and Saturday 8.00am to 12.30pm on a casual basis, with flexibility to cover both sites as needed. This would include covering annual leave and short notice sick leave.
We're looking for a friendly, organised and reliable Casual Medical Receptionist to join our team, working across both of our practice sites:
• Wakefield Gardens Surgery — Ainslie
• The Surgery, Manuka Terrace — Manuka
Availability required
• Monday to Friday, between 7.30am and 6.00pm
• Saturday, 8.00am to 12.30pm
Shifts are rostered across these hours on a casual basis, with flexibility to cover both sites as needed.
About the role
As the first point of contact for our patients, you'll play a key role in keeping our practice running smoothly. Day-to-day responsibilities include:
• Greeting patients and visitors, and managing check-in at reception
• Answering and directing phone calls
• Scheduling and confirming patient appointments
• Processing payments, invoices and Medicare/health fund claims
• Managing patient records and correspondence with accuracy and confidentiality
• Liaising with GPs, nurses and other staff to support daily clinic operations
• General administrative duties as required
What we're looking for
• Previous medical reception or healthcare administration experience is preferred, but not essential — training will be provided
• Excellent communication skills and a warm, professional manner with patients
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to multitask in a busy environment
• Comfortable using practice management and Medicare software (or willing to learn)
• Reliable, punctual and able to work the required roster across both sites
What we offer
• Supportive and friendly team environment across two well-established practices
• Casual hours — no two days the same
• Pay negotiable based on experience, in line with the relevant award
Only shortlisted applicants will be contacted.
