Transport Supervisor

We are currently looking for an experienced Transport Supervisor to join our Mackay operations. This role is responsible for leading day-to-day transport activities, driving operational efficiency, and delivering exceptional service outcomes for our mining clients.

About the Role

As a Transport Supervisor, you will lead and manage a small team of Allocators and Operations Support staff, while overseeing the coordination of transport operations. You will play a key role in improving business performance through system enhancements, process improvements, and cost control, ensuring all operations align with customer KPIs and contractual requirements.

This position requires a strong focus on safety, compliance, and performance, while maintaining clear and proactive communication with internal teams, customers, and subcontractors.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and support Allocators and Operations Support staff to achieve operational outcomes
• Coordinate closely with the Yard Supervisor and PUD team to optimise loading and operational efficiencies
• Plan and schedule transport tasks in line with customer requirements and fatigue management regulations
• Ensure compliance with Chain of Responsibility (CoR) and all relevant statutory and regulatory requirements
• Maintain accurate and timely communication with customers, vendors, and internal stakeholders
• Prepare and submit subcontractor invoices within required timeframes to support prompt pricing and cost control
• Monitor daily operational costs, including subcontractor and labour hours, to ensure cost efficiency
• Identify, document, and implement continuous improvement initiatives across operations
• Manage relationships with key customers, suppliers, and subcontractors to ensure high service delivery standards
• Complete weekly toolbox talks and ensure they are uploaded into the Safety Management System
• Ensure weekly CRIs are completed and all training requirements are current and compliant

About You

• Demonstrated experience in supervising general freight transport operations
• Strong leadership capability with proven people management experience
• Sound understanding of transport compliance, including CoR and fatigue management
• Experience working within mining or heavy transport environments (highly regarded)
• Strong commercial acumen with the ability to manage costs and improve operational performance
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
• Relevant industry qualifications such as TLFI0006, demonstrating knowledge of heavy vehicle driver fatigue management, and compliance with NHVR regulations
