NT Operations Manager – Darwin

About the role

Argos Projects is a growing insurance and commercial construction company servicing the Northern Territory. Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced and motivated NT Operations Manager to lead and oversee our Northern Territory operations.

Based in Darwin, you will lead a team of 7 staff and be responsible for the day-to-day management of the Darwin office, ensuring projects are delivered efficiently, KPIs and targets are achieved, and strong relationships are maintained with clients, insurers, trades, and suppliers.

We are seeking a hands-on leader with proven construction industry experience, whether from a trade background, site supervision, project management, or branch/operations management. Reporting directly to the Directors, you will play a key role in driving operational performance, project delivery, and the continued growth of Argos Projects in the Northern Territory.

Key responsibilities

• Overseeing day-to-day operations of the Darwin office

• Managing project delivery from commencement through to completion

• Monitoring KPIs, performance targets, and operational outcomes

• Monitoring project budgets, costs, margins, WIP

• Assisting with estimating, scoping, and project planning when required

• Managing subcontractor performance, pricing and availability

• Managing and supporting supervisors, trades, and subcontractors

• Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, insurers, suppliers, and industry stakeholders

• Ensuring quality, safety, and customer satisfaction standards are achieved

• Maintaining project documentation, reporting, and operational records

• Representing Argos Projects throughout the Northern Territory

Must Have

• Previous experience in construction, insurance building, project management, or operations management

• Strong leadership and people management skills

• Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities

• Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and staff

• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills

• Sound computer skills and the ability to learn and use company systems, software, and reporting tools

• Strong administrative and organisational skills, including maintaining accurate records, documentation, and project information

• A proactive, hands-on approach to getting things done
