Operations Coordinator

About the role

This is an on-site key support role within the business. As Operations Coordinator, you will work directly alongside the Operations Manager and Sales Representatives to ensure jobs are covered efficiently and customers are looked after. You will be the link between sales, customers, drivers and the fleet – keeping everything moving and maximising utilisation.

Key responsibilities

• Support Sales Representatives and Operations Manager with day-to-day job planning, quoting assistance and client coordination

• Allocate plant, trucks & attachments to jobs using the hire management system

• Manage customer demand, fleet availability & sub-contractors to maximise utilisation and minimise idle time

• Book & coordinate transport and liaise directly with drivers, tip sites & quarries

• Handle off-hires, extensions, swaps and breakdowns

• Keep compliance tight: tickets, insurance, SWMS and dockets ready for invoicing

• Be the go-to for sales, customers & drivers when plans change – solving problems quickly

About you

• Solid knowledge of Melbourne & regional VIC geography

• A cool head under pressure and a commercial brain - understanding that idle gear costs money

• Clear, confident communicator who finds solutions, not excuses

• Strong team player – you enjoy supporting a busy sales and operations team

• Full Australian unrestricted working rights

• 1-2 years in scheduling / dispatch / allocation – plant hire, logistics, transport or call centre (highly desired)

• Experience in civil construction, logistics, or transport operations (highly desired)

• Understanding of plant & truck specs and attachments (highly desired)

• NHVR / Chain of Responsibility (CoR) knowledge (highly desired)

We are a specialist plant hire company providing earthmoving solutions, wet-hire plant & machinery and acting as an agent for truck drivers to construction jobs.
