About the role
Family Violence Therapeutic Lead — Emerge
Permanent, 0.8 FTE (4 days/week) | SCHADS Level 7
Emerge is a specialist family violence service supporting women and children to achieve safety, autonomy and healing through trauma-informed, person-centred care.
We’re seeking a Family Violence Therapeutic Lead to lead our early intervention program Back on Track, a sector-leading program for primary-age students demonstrating challenging behaviours as a result of trauma from family violence. You’ll lead the delivery of structured group work and dyadic sessions for children and adults; embedding Back on Track across Emerge’s broader therapeutic service system; and driving the program’s continued growth and development.
Beyond leading Back on Track, you’ll provide individual, dyadic and family-based therapeutic interventions, conduct comprehensive assessments, and lead behaviour-based case planning that always centre the child’s voice. Grounded in the MARAM Framework and Best Interests Case Practice Model, you’ll bring strong clinical judgement, risk assessment skills and attachment-focused practice to a complex, multidisciplinary environment.
While this role has no direct reports, it’s recognised as a leadership position which includes opportunities to act as Team Leader, guide practice, and build team capability.
What you bring: Tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Counselling or related field; extensive MARAM experience; trauma-informed practice expertise; strong case management skills; and the composure to support women and children in crisis. WWCC, police check and current Victorian driver’s licence required.
Interested candidates should apply with a resume and cover letter addressing the KSC in the Position Description.
