ASN Townsville is an established sports nutrition business and we’re looking for an ambitious person to take the reins, build on what’s already there and drive its next stage of growth.

This isn’t a role where you simply open the doors, manage a roster and hit someone else’s checklist.

We want you to take ownership of the store’s performance.

You’ll have the backing of Australian Sports Nutrition - an established brand, proven systems, great products, marketing support and buying power - while having considerable freedom to grow the business locally.

Build relationships with gyms and PTs. Get involved with sporting clubs. Create promotions. Run events. Develop your team. Grow the customer base. Find opportunities we haven’t thought of yet.

And if you grow the business, we believe you should benefit from the result.

This position offers more than a salary.

For someone who demonstrates they can successfully lead and grow the store, there is the opportunity to move into a profit-sharing arrangement.

And for the exceptional person who wants to take things further, there may ultimately be an opportunity to buy an ownership interest in the store.

That isn’t just something we’ve invented for a job advertisement.

Over the years, a number of people within ASN have progressed from employees and managers to owning part or all of their own ASN stores. Some have gone on to own multiple stores.

If your ambition is eventually to own or build a business rather than spend your entire career simply managing one for somebody else, this could be an opportunity worth exploring.

What You’ll Own

You’ll take responsibility for the commercial performance and day-to-day leadership of ASN Townsville, including:

• Growing store sales, profitability and customer numbers

• Leading, developing and motivating a small team

• Creating an outstanding customer experience

• Building relationships with gyms, PTs, coaches, sporting clubs and the wider Townsville fitness community

• Developing and executing local promotions and events

• Finding new ways to bring customers into the business

• Managing staffing, inventory and store operations

• Maintaining ASN systems, procedures and standards

• Taking responsibility for results rather than waiting to be told what to do

You’ll have support when you need it, but we don’t want someone who needs head office to make every decision for them.

We want someone who looks at the store and thinks:

“What can I do to make this business better?”

Who We’re Looking For

You might already be a Store Manager.

You might be an Assistant Manager ready for your opportunity.

You could come from retail, sales, gyms, fitness, hospitality or another performance-driven environment.

Sports nutrition experience is helpful, but it isn’t essential.

We’re much more interested in whether you:

• Can sell and genuinely enjoy dealing with customers

• Have leadership ability and can bring the best out of people

• Are commercially minded and understand that sales and profitability matter

• Take initiative rather than waiting for instructions

• Are confident building relationships in the local community

• Are prepared to get outside the four walls of the store and create opportunities

• Are coachable and willing to learn

• Have an interest in health, fitness and performance

• Want responsibility and accountability

• Have the ambition to build something

We can teach you our systems and products.

Initiative, hunger and an ownership mentality are much harder to teach.
