About the role
Details: The ACT Insurance Authority is looking for an enthusiastic, positive, passionate experienced leader to join our fast-paced team. The work is equally challenging and rewarding. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate their passion for continuous improvement, their ability to support a team and colleagues while building a result driven culture.
We are a small team that manages claims across many classes of insurances that involve personal injury and asset loss. We serve and support the broader ACT government and community by making the best decisions in appropriate timeframes.
ACTIA is an energised, caring, and friendly respectful culture that is inclusive. Everyone in the team from the top down is involved in shaping our processes and developing better ways of working. We have an active and positive approach to managing change that provides everyone the opportunity to be involved.
As a leader within the Claims Services team, you will support your team with advice on technical issues, workflow management and stakeholder engagement. You will be responsible for ensuring that ACTIA meets its legislative obligations through ‘best practice’ claims management, routine portfolio updates, scheduled and ad-hoc stakeholder claim reviews and discussions.
You will lead by example, demonstrating the values of the ACTPS. You will be available to your team to provide support through coaching and mentoring in a way that builds expertise and adds depth to your team’s skillset.
If this is you, please apply to this advertisement.
We are committed to creating an inclusive environment where people with diverse thoughts, lived experience, and perspectives can thrive and contribute their unique talents to the ACTPS and ACT community. We encourage Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, people with disability, people with culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, veterans, younger and older workers, and people with diverse genders, sexes and sexualities to apply.
Eligibility/Other Requirements:
Note: This is a temporary position available from 31 August 2026 until 31 December 2026 with the possibility of permanency.
A merit pool will be established from this selection process and may be used to fill future identical vacancies over the next 12 months.
Selection may be based on application and referee reports only.
Opportunities for flexible working options could include hybrid working, being a combination of working from home, designated office based and FlexiSpace working locations across the ACT, part-time hours, job-sharing, flexible start, and finish times.
