The opportunity WSP's Occupational Hygiene and Hazardous Materials team delivers specialist advice on workplace health risks, occupational exposures and hazardous materials management. Working across industries, we help clients assess risk, meet regulatory requirements and implement practical solutions that protect people, projects and communities.
As a Principal Consultant your focus will be on developing/managing client relationships and providing technical expertise. As part of the management team you will be expected to be involved in strategic planning and mentoring, with the possibility of people management responsibilities.

What you’ll doWorking within an energetic team environment to maintain a high standard of client delivery, technical quality, thriving team culture, and high performance. WSP are in need of someone to join the leadership team in Victoria and assist in building the teams pipeline and capability.
Responsibilities include:Focus on business development, project delivery and client relationship managementAs part of the leadership team assist with technical development and strategy for growthNurture client relationships to expand regional business opportunitiesManage occupational health risk assessments for hazards including but not limited to silica, noise, chemical exposures, vibration, lead, asbestos, biological hazards, and indoor air qualityManage hazardous materials assessment projects including Division 5 and 6Designing effective strategies for hazard remediation and prevention managementAssess health risks and provide expert advice with support from senior technical specialists and Certified Occupational Hygienists (COH)Collaborate with cross-disciplinary working in acoustics, contaminated land, engineering and fire safetyProduce and review technical reports to a high standard, including technical peer review of reportsStrong professional development, with opportunity to be mentored by Certified Occupational Hygienists and senior executives.

About you
You are likely to have 10+ years of experience in the assessment and remediation of hazardous material and/or measuring and assessing workplace hazards including chemical, physical, ergonomic, and biological hazards.
You will ideally bring the following:Previous consultancy experience is requiredBusiness development experience will be highly regarded including development of winning proposals and building ongoing client relationshipsGood understanding of project life cycle whilst maintaining high standards of service deliveryConfidence to communicate hazards and risks with clients, from the boardroom to the fieldExperience in analysing complex results and datasets, and writing technical reportsStrong knowledge of work health and safety regulations, or health risk assessmentHigh attention to detail and responsive to clients’ needsAustralian Driver's LicenseYou're likely to have tertiary qualifications in Occupational Hygiene, Health or Environmental ScienceAsbestos assessors licence preferred
