$78,800 - $91,800 + 12% super, with matching up to 15% + adverse working allowance available.
Based in Armadale

As a Mechanical Technician with the City of Armadale, you’ll work on a wide mix of vehicles, plant and equipment. From heavy fleet and diesel engines to small motors, hydraulics, pneumatics and specialised machinery. Your work keeps our crews moving and ensures the community gets the services they rely on every day.

What You'll Be Doing
You’ll be part of the Service Delivery team, maintaining and repairing the City’s fleet and equipment. Your day will include:

• Servicing and repairing a wide range of vehicles, plant and equipment
• Diagnosing faults using practical trade knowledge and diagnostic tools
• Carrying out mechanical, auto electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic repairs
• Welding and fabrication for repairs or modifications
• Tyre fitting, repairs and replacements
• Reducing downtime through efficient fault identification and lean work practices
• Supporting predictive maintenance with the Supervisor Mechanical Services
• Completing accurate maintenance records and parts identification
• Working on site when required, sometimes in changing conditions
• Helping teammates and equipment users with guidance and technical support
• Participating in training and sharing knowledge across the team

About You
You’re someone who knows their way around a workshop, can diagnose issues quickly and takes pride in doing things safely and properly. You work well with others, communicate clearly and can manage your workload without needing constant direction.
You'll bring:

• A Heavy Duty Mechanic qualification or relevant trade certification
• Experience working on a variety of vehicles, plant and equipment
• Strong diagnostic and problem solving skills
• Knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, auto electrical, air conditioning, transmissions, welding and tyre fitting
• Good record keeping and documentation habits
• Experience with quality assurance practices
• A current HR Manual Driver’s Licence
• A current National Police Certificate (or ability to obtain one)
