Senior Procurement Officer

The key purpose of the role is to drive value outcomes within high level, complex procurement initiatives, whilst developing and implementing strategic vendor management frameworks within the System Procurement Medical Consumables category. This role reports to the Category Manager, Medical Consumables, however will maintain functional responsibilities to the Principal Procurement Officer.

Your key responsibilities:

• Perform high quality procurement services including: sourcing, facilitation of evaluations, contract negotiation, management and administration activities.
• Have a focus on cost reduction outcomes through the execution of strategic sourcing initiatives, constantly ensuring efforts translate to measurable returns to Medical Consumables.
• Coach and mentor sourcing personnel to ensure procurement activities are conducted in accordance with the 5 phase procurement process, ensuring all steps are followed within designated time frames for each risk profile.
• Take responsibility for the high risk and high value procurements, ensuring customer service and stakeholder management is performed with the highest of standards and expectations are exceeded.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of standardised tools, practices and procedures that optimise procurement efficiency while delivering a targeted service to internal customers.

• Demonstrated ability to achieve value outcomes whilst maintaining high level of vendor/client relationships.
• Demonstrated high personal work performance in documentation development, time management, multiple project prioritisations, and the ability to proof edit and improve existing and developing documentation including other team member's work.
• Demonstrated high level ability to communicate and negotiate with stakeholders, including senior stakeholders to achieve desired outcomes.
• Demonstrated understanding of modern procurement processes, probity, and governance frameworks that ensure all activities are conducted with integrity, maintain a high ethical standard, are transparent and defensible and pass external audit when required.
