Leadership with decades of international civil construction experience supports ongoing development and high standards on every project.Role Description The Leading Hand role is a full-time, on-site position based on the Gold Coast, supporting civil construction projects such as roadside barriers, signage, and related works. This role oversees daily site activities, coordinating crew members, assigning tasks, and ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to specification. The Leading Hand is responsible for site supervision, monitoring progress, checking quality, and communicating clearly with project supervisors, subcontractors, and team members. Day-to-day tasks include organizing materials and equipment, contributing to site set-up and pack-down, conducting safety checks, and maintaining compliance with company procedures and regulatory requirements. The role also involves assisting with problem-solving on site, mentoring less experienced team members, and supporting timely project delivery.Qualifications Demonstrated supervisory skills and experience leading teams in a civil construction or similar environment.Strong site supervision capabilities, including coordination of workforce, materials, and equipment on active worksites.Effective communication skills for interacting with crew members, supervisors, clients, and subcontractors.Experience in inspection of works for quality, adherence to plans, and compliance with relevant standards.Solid understanding of construction safety practices, including hazard identification, risk management, and adherence to WHS requirements.Previous experience in roadside construction, infrastructure, or related civil projects is highly desirable.Relevant trade qualification or certificate in civil construction or a related field is an advantage.Current driver’s license and ability to travel to different sites as required.Ability to work outdoors in varying conditions and perform hands-on tasks when needed.
