Project Engineer – VIC

JD Security is a national leader in Electronic Security for over 40 years, delivering advanced IP CCTV, Access Control, Alarm and Monitoring solutions across Australia and New Zealand.

Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join our Victorian Team (location Fairfield). This role will oversee the successful delivery of electronic security projects from design through to commissioning and handover.

Position Description & Role Requirements

• Manage projects from conception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget and to the required quality standards.
• Develop project plans, schedules, and budgets and track progress against these plans using SimPRO.
• Champion a safety-first culture, ensuring SWMS, Toolbox Talks and project-specific safety plans are completed and communicated effectively across every job.
• Ensuring capability, compliance and quality standards are met on-site.
• Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including as-built plans, cable schedules, ITCs and ITPs.
• Identify and manage project risks and take appropriate action to mitigate issues as they arise.
• Complete job handovers in line with JD Security’s Project Delivery and Project Aftercare standards.

Experience & Certifications

• Demonstrated experience managing projects within the electronic security or related technical/construction industry.
• Strong knowledge of electronic security systems, including IP CCTV, Access Control and Alarm Systems.
• Proficiency using SimPRO, or similar project tracking and management software.
• Competency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Teams and Planner.
• Strong communication, negotiation, and team management skills, with the confidence to manage contractors and mentor junior staff.
• Sound understanding of ISO and Australian Standards relevant to the security industry.
• Current Security Licence, Driver’s Licence, Construction Induction (White Card), Cablers Licence and Working with Children Check.
