Electrical Estimator/Project Coordinator

About the role

This is a varied role suited to someone who is strong technically, commercially minded and enjoys being involved in a project from tendering and pricing through to delivery. The successful candidate will have solid experience using Espro and understand the electrical construction industry, but will also have the ability to assist with project administration, QA/QC, procurement, variations, documentation and general project management support.

Key responsibilities

Estimating & Tendering

• Prepare detailed electrical estimates and tenders using Espro

• Review drawings, specifications, scopes and tender documentation

• Complete take-offs, labour/material allowances and subcontractor/supplier pricing

• Obtain and compare supplier and subcontractor quotations

• Identify exclusions, assumptions, risks and opportunities

• Prepare tender submissions and commercial documentation

• Assist with tender negotiations and post-tender clarifications

• Maintain accurate tender and pricing records

Project Administration & Coordination

• Assist Project Managers with the day-to-day administration of projects

• Assist with procurement, purchase orders and material tracking

• Prepare and track variations, RFIs, notices and project correspondence

• Assist with project cost control and forecasting

• Review subcontractor and supplier documentation

• Assist with progress claims and project reporting

• Maintain project registers and ensure documentation is kept up to date

• Coordinate information between site teams, builders, suppliers and the office

QA/QC & Project Support

• Assist with project QA/QC requirements

• Prepare, maintain and review ITPs, checklists and quality documentation

• Assist with defect tracking and close-out

• Review works against drawings, specifications and project requirements

• Assist with compiling handover and close-out documentation

• Support site teams with documentation and technical information when required

About you

• Previous experience as an Electrical Estimator/project coordinator

• Strong working knowledge of Espro

• Commercial electrical construction experience

• Good understanding of electrical drawings, specifications and construction methodology

• Ability to accurately price labour, materials and subcontractor works

• Strong attention to detail and commercial awareness

• Experience with project administration and documentation

• Understanding of variations, RFIs, QA/QC and project processes

• Excellent organisational and time-management skills

• Strong communication skills
