Mechanical Trades Assistant

BTR Excavations is a well-established Civil Construction company in Adelaide North, with over 25 years in the Civil Construction industry. Due to sustained growth, we require an Mechanical Trades Assistant.

This position will operate from our Workshop in Waterloo Corner (mobile site work also) working Monday - Friday with on call requirements on occasional nights & weekends.

We have a large fleet of earthmoving equipment, heavy vehicles and light vehicles. This role would be suitable for a locally based candidate and will be responsible for conducting all servicing, maintenance and repairs for our fleet with preferred experience in Iveco trucks, JCB Backhoes, Hitachi Excavators.

Responsibilities: 

• Help dismantle and reassemble engines, gearboxes, pumps, and machinery components.

• Perform routine servicing tasks like fluid changes, greasing, and filter replacements.

• Hold, position, or pass tools and parts to senior tradespeople during complex repairs.

• Load, unload, move, and organize heavy parts, materials, and equipment.

• Clean and maintain hand tools, power tools, and workshop gear after use.

• Keep work areas, service bays, and site floors clear of debris, oil spills, and hazards

Requirements:

• Proven experience in the service and repair of civil mobile plant

• Construction Induction White Card for site access

• Valid Driver's Licence

• Ability to complete tasks within timeframes

• Ability to work independently and in a team 

• Flexibility in your working hours

• Experience in keeping job diaries/tracking systems

• Display a commitment to WHS
