About the Role
Location: Bendigo
Pay Rate: $50 per hour + Super
Shifts commencing: 10am
Day of Work: Monday to Friday
What You’ll Do
We’re looking for a qualified Truck Mechanic, responsible to carry out all facets of preventative maintenance and repair of heavy vehicles including brakes, steering, suspension, hydraulics and fabrication.
As a JJ’s Heavy Vehicle Mechanic, you will play an integral role within our workshop and a key member to support keeping our trucks on the road and serving our communities.
Your responsibilities will include:
Complete preventative maintenance, inspections, and repairs.
Report defects, safety issues, and non-conformances.
Work with a structured asset management system that keeps your daily workload organised and efficient.
Work with other trades as required.
Keep work areas clean and safe.
Deliver safe, reliable customer service.
What You’ll Bring
Our ideal candidate is a reliable, honest, and self-motivated team player who takes pride in delivering high-quality work, is adaptable and willing to learn, demonstrates a strong sense of responsibility and consistently represents the company in a professional, friendly and customer-focused manner.
You will also:
Be a qualified Truck Mechanic Heavy Commercial Vehicles (trade certificate or equivalent). If you’re a qualified Light Mechanic, Welder or Auto Electrician and looking to upskill – we want to hear from you too!
Have demonstrated knowledge and experience on Heavy Vehicles, mechanical and hydraulic systems.
A genuine commitment to safety and compliance with workplace policies and procedures.
A strong work ethic with a reputation for being reliable, punctual, and ready to get the job done.
Have the ability to work well individually and as part of a team and want to be a part of a culture of learning and continuous improvement.
Be able to follow company procedures; be flexible and resourceful enough to adapt on the go
The physical capability to safely perform regular manual handling tasks
What You’ll Need
Undertake a company pre-employment medical and drug/alcohol screening.
Current Australian working rights.
A Heavy Vehicle Licence is desirable, however not an essential pre-requisite. The successful candidate will be required to have obtained the licence within 6 months of commencement.
To provide trade certificate(s) when applying.
You will need to bring your own basic hand tools to the job.
