Commercial Manager

Ventia is seeking an experienced Commercial Manager to support the delivery of the Torrens to Darlington (T2D) Project, a landmark transport infrastructure initiative that will shape the future of South Australia's road network.

About the Role

You will provide strategic and operational commercial support across the project, ensuring strong contract administration, commercial governance and risk management throughout the project lifecycle. You'll be a trusted advisor to project leaders, leading complex commercial negotiations and helping deliver successful outcomes for both Ventia and our client.

What You'll Be Doing

• Provide commercial guidance and advice to project teams on contractual matters.
• Develop commercial strategies for claims, disputes and contract variations.
• Lead negotiations for significant variations, claims and commercial outcomes.
• Support the continual improvement of commercial policies, processes and contract administration.
• Identify and manage contractual risks, ensuring statutory and contractual compliance.
• Partner with operational teams to optimise commercial performance and minimise revenue leakage and cost escalation.
• Build strong relationships with clients, subcontractors and internal stakeholders to achieve positive commercial outcomes.

About You

You'll be a commercially astute professional who enjoys solving complex problems and influencing project outcomes. You combine strong commercial judgement with the ability to build trusted relationships across technical and operational teams.

You'll also bring

• Demonstrated experience in commercial or contract management within major infrastructure, construction or engineering environments.
• Strong knowledge of contract administration, commercial risk management and claims.
• Experience leading commercial negotiations and resolving complex contractual issues.
• Sound understanding of construction contracts and commercial frameworks.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• A collaborative leadership style with a focus on delivering value for both the business and our clients.
• Qualifications in Quantity Surveying, Law, Commerce, Engineering or another relevant discipline will be highly regarded.
