Electrical Apprenticeship Opportunity – Solar & Roofing Experience Essential

Maxim Energy is a small, family-run electrical business based in Melbourne’s south-eastern suburbs. We currently have one position available for someone looking to commence or continue an Electrical Apprenticeship.

We specialise in residential and commercial solar and battery installations across metropolitan and regional Victoria. This is a hands-on role working alongside qualified and experienced electricians, offering practical training, strong mentoring and long-term career development.

You may already be an Electrical Apprentice, or you may have worked as a Solar Roofer, Solar Installer or Labourer and now be ready to begin an Electrical Apprenticeship.

Your current apprenticeship year is not important. What matters is that you have previous hands-on experience working on roofs and installing solar panels.

Location Requirement

Only applicants living in Melbourne’s eastern or south-eastern suburbs will be considered.

Work locations vary daily and include job sites across metropolitan Melbourne and, occasionally, regional Victoria.

Key Responsibilities

• Measuring and marking roofs for solar panel layouts
• Installing rails, mounting systems and solar panels
• Working safely on tiled and metal roofs
• Fitting panels in tight or difficult roof spaces
• Assisting with DC cabling and electrical work under supervision
• Preparing equipment and maintaining clean and safe worksites
• Lifting and handling solar panels and battery modules

Essential Requirements

• Previous hands-on solar panel installation and residential roof experience
• Confident working safely on roofs and at heights
• Physically fit and capable of lifting panels and battery modules
• Current driver’s licence
• Own reliable vehicle to travel to different job sites
• White Card
• Working at Heights certification
• Strong attention to detail
• Reliable, punctual and willing to travel
• Willingness to commence or continue an Electrical Apprenticeship
• Australian citizenship, permanent residency or full Australian working rights

Required or Willing to Obtain Immediately

• Working Safely in the Solar Industry certification
