About The Role:

Whitsunday Regional Council is seeking a motivated and hands-on Shute Harbour Maintenance / Terminal Assistant to support the safe, efficient and professional operation of the Shute Harbour Marine Terminal.   This diverse role combines maintenance, customer service and operational support to ensure one of the region's premier marine facilities remains welcoming, functional and well presented for visitors, tenants and stakeholders.

Your Impact:

• Contribute to the safe and efficient operation of the Shute Harbour Marine Terminal through proactive maintenance and operational support.
• Deliver exceptional customer service and visitor assistance, enhancing the experience of passengers, tourists and terminal users.
• Maintain high standards of presentation, cleanliness and safety across the terminal precinct and marine facilities.
• Support terminal operations during cruise ship visits, events, functions and other high-demand periods.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Undertaking routine maintenance of terminal facilities, land-based assets and marine pontoons.
• Completing asset inspections, maintenance schedules and operational documentation.
• Identifying and reporting maintenance issues, hazards and defects while carrying out minor repairs where appropriate.
• Maintaining the cleanliness, safety and presentation of public facilities and surrounding precinct areas.
• Assisting visitors with enquiries, directions, wayfinding and general terminal information.
• Refuelling customer vessels safely while delivering excellent customer service.
• Supporting terminal operations, fuel sales and general administrative activities.
• Working collaboratively within a small team to support daily operations and enhance the visitor experience.

About You:

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

• Current Queensland C Class Driver Licence.
• Experience in general maintenance, facilities maintenance, trade assistance or a similar hands-on environment.
• Strong customer service skills and a commitment to delivering positive visitor experiences.
• The ability to work independently and as part of a small team.
• A proactive approach to workplace safety and maintenance activities.
• The physical capability to undertake manual and outdoor work requirements.
