About the role
Hear and Say is Queensland's specialised provider of audiology and speech pathology for all people with hearing loss. We operate state-wide and support people of all ages - from newborn babies, to toddlers, school-age children, and adults.
An exceptional opportunity currently exists for a suitably experienced and motivated individual to join us in the permanent full-time role of Accountant in our Ashgrove location. This is a full-time role consisting of 38 hours per week - Mondays to Fridays.
The role of accountant exists to support the Financial Controller by managing the day to day functions of the Finance department, including reconciliation and maintenance of the general, accounts payable and accounts receivable ledgers, payroll processing and BAS preparation.
To be successful in this role you will have demonstrated accounting experience in ideally either a health-related industry, disability, or the not-for-profit sector (exposure to NDIS will be highly desirable), coupled with high motivation, strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to work effectively in a team or autonomously. You will also possess:
Demonstrated ability to adapt and thrive in a busy and dynamic work environment.
Excellence in customer service, meticulous attention to detail as well as effective time management, organisation and problem-solving skills.
Proven ability to multi-task and prioritise tasks to meet competing deadlines with high degree of accuracy.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint) , experience with WIISE / Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central highly regarded.
A willingness to learn, to take ownership of work, a high level of initiative, integrity and confidentiality and possession of a professional and respectful work ethic.
Mandatory requirements of this role include-
Appropriate accounting or business degree (preferred)
Minimum of 5 years accounting experience
Eligibility to clear probity checks including disability worker screening and working with children check (Blue Card / Yellow Card).
Criminal history check clear of dishonest type offenses.
