Retail Sales Assistant (Casual) – Pet Store

About the Role

We are looking for a casual Retail Sales Assistant who is confident, proactive, and genuinely enjoys talking to customers. This role is hands‑on and fast‑paced — perfect for someone who takes initiative, stays busy, and can naturally lead a conversation to a sale.

You will be responsible for delivering great customer service, recommending products, maintaining store presentation, and supporting daily retail operations across our Pet Land stores.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet customers and confidently start conversations

• Recommend products and provide helpful, practical advice

• Drive sales through genuine customer engagement

• Maintain store presentation, cleanliness, and merchandising standards

• Restock shelves, unpack deliveries, and rotate stock

• Process sales accurately through POS

• Support the team by staying active and finding tasks without being asked

What We’re Looking For

• Someone who loves talking to people and can build rapport easily

• Confident, friendly, and comfortable recommending products

• Proactive — you don’t wait to be told what to do

• Mature, reliable, and takes pride in their work

• Physically capable of lifting bags up to 20kg

• Enjoys staying busy and contributing to a positive team environment

• Retail or customer service experience is highly regarded

• Warm, approachable communication style
