Graduate/Junior Immigration Lawyer Position

About the role

Chua Tan Associates Lawyers, Consultants & Public Notary is seeking a junior lawyer with a strong interest and dedication to practise in immigration law to join the specialist team. You will handle various types of visa applications and appeal applications (merit and judicial review), submissions, research and some administrative duties. The position includes client contact and autonomy but with supervision as required. You will receive mentoring from LIV Accredited Specialists in Immigration Law.

Key responsibilities

• Handle various types of visa applications and appeal applications (merit and judicial review)

• Prepare submissions and conduct research

• Perform administrative duties

• Manage client contact with autonomy and supervision as required

• Manage all files with efficient and effective time deadline management

• Manage conflicting priorities and multiple tasks

• Work under pressure with substantial workload in a fast-paced environment

About you

• Admitted to practise as a lawyer or about to be admitted

• Ability to read, understand and communicate in Mandarin or Cantonese

• Attention to detail

• Excellent written English and communication skills

• High motivation and own initiative, mature team player, can do and results driven attitude

• Strong computer, research, drafting legal submission, analytical and interpretation skills

• Strong commitment to client services
