Psychotherapist

Location: Auburn, NSW

Salary: $80,001 - $100,000

Job Type: Permanent position | Full time position

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients’ emotional, behavioural and psychological needs.
• Identify mental and emotional disorders and determine appropriate psychotherapeutic interventions.
• Develop, implement and regularly review individualised treatment and support plans.
• Provide individual, family or group psychotherapy using appropriate methods, including behavioural, cognitive, interpersonal, relaxation and other recognised therapeutic approaches.
• Assist clients to understand and manage trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, relationship difficulties, behavioural concerns and other emotional challenges.
• Monitor treatment outcomes and modify therapeutic strategies according to clients’ progress and changing needs.
• Provide crisis support, risk assessments and appropriate referrals where clients require specialist or urgent intervention.
• Collaborate with medical practitioners, psychologists, counsellors, social workers, support coordinators and other professionals involved in client care.
• Maintain accurate, confidential and timely case notes, assessments, treatment plans and progress reports.
• Comply with privacy, safeguarding, mandatory reporting, work health and safety and professional practice requirements.
• Participate in case conferences, professional supervision, training and service-quality improvement activities.

Qualification & experience

• A relevant bachelor’s degree or higher qualification in psychotherapy, counselling, psychology, mental health or a closely related discipline.
• At least two years of relevant professional experience providing psychotherapy or comparable therapeutic services.
• Demonstrated ability to assess clients and develop and deliver evidence-based treatment plans.
• Sound knowledge of trauma-informed, person-centred and culturally responsive practice.
• Strong communication, counselling, documentation and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary environment.
• Current National Police Check and

Working with Children Check, or the ability to obtain them.

• NDIS Worker Screening Check where required.
• Eligibility for professional membership with PACFA, ACA or another relevant professional association is highly regarded.
