About the role
Co-Hive is looking for a Program Assistant on a part-time basis 2-4 days per week, to join our team, supporting young adults aged 17–35 living with mild disability, neurodivergence, and low support needs as they build employment, independence, and social connection skills.
You’ll work as part of a team that facilitates learning – sometimes supporting our Program Facilitators to deliver structured group sessions, and sometimes leading programs yourself, like social meetups or independence getaways. Either way, you’ll be hands-on: running small-group and mentoring activities such as travel training, digital skills, or goal-setting, and helping participants take meaningful steps toward jobs, further education, and community life.
You’ll do genuinely meaningful work, supported by a passionate, hands-on team that invests in your development and growth. It’s a participant-led, high-energy environment where every day looks a little different – challenging, rewarding, and fun.
Our programs are detailed under “Programs and Services” on our website.
Hours: Program Assistants are required to be onsite at a Co-Hive hub to support programs and participants between 9am and 3pm, with availability needed from time to time on evenings and/or weekends to lead Social Meet-Ups.
Days: We have part time vacancies available for 2 to 4 days (Monday and Tuesday or Wednesday and Thursday) for Terms 3 & 4 and beyond. Please indicate in your application which working days you prefer and which of our programs you feel skilled and confident to work in.
Location: Current vacancies are based at our Alexandria hub, but we’d also love to hear from you if you are based on, or interested in working from, the North Shore as we look to open new hubs in 2027.
If this sounds like you, and you’d like to be part of our team, please “Apply Now”.
Co-Hive is a Sydney-based organisation empowering young adults aged 17–35 with disability, neurodiversity, and low support needs to achieve award-wage open employment, build independence and advocacy, and develop strong social connections. Founded by an experienced leader in special education, Co-Hive exists because too many young adults with disability were leaving school without a genuine pathway into employment, further study, or community life.
In just two years, we’ve grown to two hubs, 140+ participants each week, and national recognition including Best New Disability Business in Australia (2024). More importantly, we’ve built something rare and deeply needed: a genuine community.
We have supported hundreds of young adults and their families to move from uncertainty to confidence, from limited options to real pathways, and from isolation to belonging. For many families, Co-Hive has restored hope for a future their young person can feel proud of; one grounded in purpose, independence, contribution, and meaningful success. If this sounds like something you’d like to be part of, we’d love to hear from you.
