These positions are multi‑classed as either RN/M1 or RN/M2C and the appointment classification will be determined by qualifications and experience.

The Registered Nurse and Clinical Nurse roles within the Emergency Department offer the opportunity to provide high‑quality nursing care in a dynamic and rapidly developing health service.

Southern Fleurieu Health Service opened a brand‑new facility in November 2025, and we are now expanding our workforce to meet the needs of our growing community.

This role offers the opportunity to provide nursing services within a dynamic health service setting. Develop from a novice to a proficient practitioner, consolidating your knowledge and skills through continuous professional development and experience.

HOW WILL YOU CONTRIBUTE?

• Registered Nurses will develop from a novice to a proficient practitioner, consolidating your clinical knowledge and skills through ongoing professional development and experience.
• Clinical Nurses will integrate into the senior nursing team to provide high level clinical care and staff mentorship within our expanding department.
• Deliver person‑centred care, assessing and coordinating patient needs in a fast‑paced emergency environment.
• Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to achieve positive patient outcomes.
• Be accountable for your own practice, including the care you provide and the activities you delegate to others.
• Contribute to quality improvement, education, and evidence‑based practice within the department.

WHAT ELSE DO YOU NEED TO KNOW/WHAT IS ESSENTIAL FOR SUCCESS?

Working in this environment, it is important to us that we only employ people with the upmost integrity and commitment to serving the South Australian community and its visitors to the highest possible standards. To ensure that we meet that commitment there are a few checks that you will be required to undertake. These are detailed on the Role Description, but are likely to include the following:

• You will need to be immunised. Please contact the Enquiries Person for this position if you have any queries. Addressing vaccine preventable disease: Occupational assessment, screening and vaccination policy. Further information is in the application for to help guide you. 
• You will need to undergo employment screening, what you require is also on the front page of the Role Description.
• You must be registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and hold, or be eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate.
• To be eligible for appointment as a Clinical Nurse (CN), applicants must apply for a Clinical Nurse position and provide evidence of either personal reclassification within Emergency through SA Health or equivalent interstate recognition. Or currently hold an equivalent position within SA Health or the speciality.
