Project Accountant

Job Description

Wood is currently recruiting for a Project Accountant to join our team at the Ampol Refinery in Brisbane.

The Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for a range of project and management accounting activities for the Assignment including client billing, budget management and variance analysis, financial reporting and provide senior management with support for accounting and finance issues.

Billing

RESPONSIBILITIES

Ensuring accurate allocation of time and costs to contracted workEnsure alignment of client and internal financial systems to facilitate billing and cost reconciliationInvoice client in accordance with contractManage customer financial audit processes & ensure resolution is reachedEnsure customer payments meet contractual timingLiaises with client representatives, and project personnel to resolve billing queriesReports contract performance and analyses variances eg Dashboard, client report and any other financial reports as agreed with the Contract ManagerUndertake the month end close and the submission of various group reporting requirement eg Flash/Bridge/Unbilled and AR analysisWork with Shared Service Centre to ensure allocation of payments to receivables is done timely monthlyEnsure rates data changes captured in a timely manner in Oracle and submitted to the client for approvalLead various initiatives to define finance processes and procedures to support the contract Support budgeting and forecasting activitiesPerforms risk assessment on all financial processes implementing mitigating controls as necessaryReview/approve coding of invoices

Month End Close/reporting

Qualifications

Accounting Degree and qualified CPA / CA preferred or working towards5 years + experience in a similar roleIntellectually capable, can substantiate the ability to apply theory in a particular contextProfessional demeanour, interpersonal skills Previous experience working with EBAAble to demonstrate team working skillsEnthusiastic, conscientious and keen to learnFlexible with a can-do attitudeA good business partner to the operational divisionsProficient in process reviews, change management and process integration
