About the role
Settlement Clerk
McKenzie and McKenzie are a small friendly legal team in regional WA.
We are seeking a motivated and organised Settlement Clerk to join our regional legal practice.
This role would suit an experienced settlement clerk looking for a supportive and professional environment. However, we also welcome applications from candidates with administration, conveyancing, or legal support experience who are keen to develop their skills and build a long-term career in the legal industry.
Working alongside our experienced lawyers, you will play an important role in managing conveyancing transactions and supporting a variety of legal matters.
About the Role
The successful applicant will be responsible for:
· Managing residential and commercial conveyancing matters from commencement through to settlement.
· Liaising with clients, agents, financiers, settlement agents and government authorities.
· Preparing settlement documentation and attending to post-settlement requirements.
· Conducting title, rates and other property searches.
· Managing files and key settlement dates to ensure matters progress efficiently.
· Assisting lawyers with settlement-related aspects of deceased estate matters, family law matters and other legal transactions.
· Providing exceptional client service and maintaining professional communication throughout matters.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
· Strong organisational and time management skills.
· Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
· Professional communication and client service skills.
· The ability to manage multiple matters and competing deadlines.
· Experience in conveyancing and settlements is highly regarded but not essential.
· A willingness to learn and work collaboratively within a legal team.
