Role Description The Graduate Civil Engineer will work full time on-site at Engmil Consulting’s Warragul, VIC office, supporting the delivery of civil and urban development projects. Day-to-day tasks include assisting with civil engineering design for residential, commercial, and municipal developments, preparing drawings and documentation, and supporting planning activities under the guidance of senior engineers. The role involves contributing to stormwater management designs, basic drainage calculations, and infrastructure layouts, as well as helping with site investigations, data collection, and report preparation. The Graduate Civil Engineer will collaborate with project teams, communicate with internal stakeholders, and ensure work complies with relevant standards, codes, and local council requirements while developing practical engineering skills.
Qualifications
Strong foundation in Civil Engineering and Civil Engineering Design, with the ability to apply theoretical knowledge to practical projects.Understanding of Stormwater Management principles, drainage systems, and related infrastructure planning.Interest in Planning for urban development, including layouts for roads, lots, and municipal services.Relevant tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering or a closely related discipline.Proficiency with civil design and drafting software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D or similar) and MS Office tools.Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work in a multidisciplinary team environment.Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities, with attention to detail and a willingness to learn.Knowledge of Australian standards and local council requirements is an advantage; prior internship or industry experience is beneficial.
