Qualified Underground Technician/Operator

Nitro Sibir Australia is seeking motivated individuals to join our team as either Trainee or Qualified Underground Technicians.

This is a practical, physically active role working on customer mine sites across Australia. You’ll work alongside experienced technicians and be involved in maintaining, servicing, and operating emulsion charging units used in underground blasting operations.

Roster & Location: This position is based in Kalgoorlie, Western Australia, and operates on either an 8 days on / 6 days off or 14 days on / 14 days off roster.

About the Role

• Work underground on customer mine sites across Australia

• Maintain, clean, and service emulsion units

• Operate emulsion equipment safely and efficiently

• Assist with daily checks, setup, and shutdown of equipment

• Perform mechanical fault-finding and report issues

• Work safely with tools, hoses, pumps, and mechanical components

• Follow strict safety and operating procedures at all times

About You

• Strong safety mindset

• Willingness to learn and take direction

• Mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience

• Able to work underground and perform physical tasks

• Willing to travel and work across multiple mine sites

• Reliable, punctual, and team-focused

• Current Australian Driver’s Licence

• Current Dangerous Goods Security Card (or ability to obtain)

• Able to pass pre-employment medical, drug and alcohol screening, police check, and site inductions

Desirable

• Underground mining experience

• Experience with mobile plant, pumps, or mechanical equipment

• Relevant mining or mechanical tickets

• Previous experience with emulsion charging equipment
