Support Service commences Monday 21 August 2026 Female Support Worker | In-Home Care | MS Support

Support Network is looking for an experienced, dog-friendly female support worker to join the care team for a wonderful participant in Daceyville.

The Participant

Our client is a 62-year-old woman living with Multiple Sclerosis (MS). She's independent with feeding herself and administering her own medication, but requires assistance with manual transfers, personal care, and pad changes, and supervision while walking due to reduced coordination. She has recently injured her ankle, which has further reduced her mobility. Support staff will need to drive her to appointments and shopping, so a reliable car with comprehensive insurance is essential. She has a very friendly dog who's part of the household — you'll need to be comfortable around dogs.

The Shifts

• Currently 4 hours per day, Monday to Thursday
• Heads up: the participant is currently being assessed for 12–24 hour support, so we'll soon need workers available for 2:1 shifts — great opportunity for more hours down the track

What You'll Be Doing

• Daily living activities and household tasks
• Community Access Support (CAS), including accompanying the participant to appointments and shopping
• Manual transfers (client has reduced mobility due to a recent ankle injury)
• Personal care and pad changes
• Commode emptying and cleaning
• Light, easy gardening

What You'll Need

• Manual handling experience (essential)
• Experience supporting clients with MS
• Personal care experience
• Reliable car with comprehensive car insurance, and a current driver's licence
• Dog-friendly
• Female support staff preferred (genuine occupational requirement)
• Empathetic, proactive, and patient approach

• Current First Aid and CPR Certificates
• Manual Handling
• Police Check
• Infection Control Certificate
• NDIS Worker Orientation
• ABN
• Drivers Licence with comprehensive car insurance with own vehicle

Job Type: Subcontract

Pay: $40.00 – $42.00 per hour
