As an Independent Speech Pathologist, you will:

• Manage and grow your own NDIS participant caseload

• Build relationships with Support Coordinators, plan managers, providers, families and participants

• Complete speech, language, communication and swallowing assessments within your scope of practice

• Develop person-centred therapy plans and measurable goals

• Deliver individual therapy in-home, in the community or via telehealth where clinically appropriate

• Assess and support Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) needs where within your competence

• Develop mealtime management or dysphagia recommendations where appropriately qualified and competent

• Prepare NDIS reports, progress reports and review documentation

• Provide training and education to families, carers and support teams

• Complete professional case notes and clinical documentation

• Manage your own diary, travel and appointments

• Maintain professional, NDIS and Speech Pathology Australia requirements applicable to your practice

• Deliver evidence-informed, participant-centred supports

We’re seeking speech pathologists who are ambitious, independent and committed to delivering high-quality NDIS supports.

You will ideally have:

• Recognised tertiary qualification in Speech Pathology

• Current eligibility for or membership with Speech Pathology Australia, preferably Certified Practising Speech Pathologist status

• Experience working with NDIS participants or in disability/community practice

• Strong assessment, therapy planning and report writing skills

• Understanding of communication, swallowing and disability support needs relevant to your scope

• Understanding of NDIS funding and participant-centred practice

• Ability to work independently and manage your own caseload

• Existing referral pathways or confidence to build your own caseload

• ABN with Professional Indemnity and Public Liability Insurance

• Current Police Check

• First Aid & CPR

• NDIS Worker Screening Check

• Working With Children Check where required

• NDIS Worker Orientation Module

• Reliable internet, equipment and transport where community visits are undertaken
