About the role
Quarry and Landfill Supervisor – Maintenance & Plant
Location: Kurnell, NSW
Full-Time | Site-Based Role
We are seeking an experienced Quarry Supervisor to assist in leading maintenance and plant operations at our Kurnell site. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for ensuring all fixed and mobile equipment operates safely, efficiently, and with minimal downtime to meet safety and production needs.
Reporting to the Quarry Manager, you will work alongside our Quarry and Landfill Supervisors and assist in overseeing preventative, planned, and breakdown maintenance while supervising day-to-day activities and production across the site.
Key Responsibilities
• Supervise maintenance and operational activities across the site
• Ensure safe, efficient operation of fixed and mobile plant including dredges, wash plants, loaders, excavators, dozers, water trucks, and dump trucks
• Develop, implement, and manage preventative maintenance programs
• Plan and allocate daily, weekly, and monthly site activities to achieve production and sales targets
• Minimise plant downtime and control maintenance costs
• Maintain compliance with the Mine Safety Management System
• Identify, report, and manage hazards, near misses, and incidents
• Prepare and implement SWMS, SOPs, and related safety documentation
• Coordinate and supervise contractors when required
• Order parts and manage spare parts inventory
• Monitor performance, identify inefficiencies, and drive continuous improvement
About You
• Trade qualified (Certificate IV or equivalent)
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in quarry operations
• Strong understanding of heavy earthmoving equipment and fixed plant in a quarry environment
• Able to work in a team environment with a hands-on approach
• Excellent planning, organisational, and communication skills
• Strong safety focus with a proactive leadership style
Hours of Work
• Minimum 8 hours per day Monday to Friday
• On-site presence required during high-risk activities, including weekends as required
