Board - Director and Finance Roles (Voluntary)

As Melbourne Women's Foundation continues to grow its impact and deliver on our 2026–2029 Strategy, we are seeking passionate and values-aligned women to join our voluntary Board. 

We are currently recruiting for the following voluntary Board roles: 

• Treasurer and Chair, Finance and Risk Committee
• Board Director - Finance
• Board Director (2 roles) 

These appointments will strengthen MWF's governance, financial stewardship and strategic capability as we continue to grow our impact across Greater Melbourne. 

Treasurer and Chair, Finance and Risk Committee 

This Board leadership role provides strategic oversight of MWF's financial sustainability, governance, risk management, and compliance. Working closely with the Board Chair, Directors and Finance and Risk Committee, the Treasurer supports informed decision-making and responsible financial stewardship. 

This Board Director role supports MWF's day-to-day financial management and administration. Working closely with the Treasurer, the role prepares financial reports and budgets, maintains financial records, and supports the Finance and Risk Committee and Board with timely financial information. 

Board Directors 

We are also seeking experienced and collaborative women who are passionate about creating positive social impact. We welcome applicants with leadership and expertise in one or more of the following areas: 

• Digital innovation, cybersecurity or emerging technologies 
• Partnerships, philanthropy or fundraising 
• Advocacy, communications or stakeholder engagement 
• Legal, governance and risk oversight 
• Strategy, leadership and organisational development 
• Community engagement, member experience or volunteer leadership. 

Across all roles, we are looking for women who bring: 

• Demonstrated leadership, professional expertise and sound judgement 
• A collaborative approach and commitment to good governance 
• An understanding of, or interest in, the not-for-profit and philanthropy sectors 
• A commitment to MWF's vision, purpose and values of Courage, Collaboration and Care.
